JAMMU, Dec 11: Greater Kailash and Bishnah Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered heroin from their possession.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Greater Kailash Police Station led by SI Rohit Gandhi under the supervision of SHO Gangyal Inspector Sunil Singh Jasrotia and SP South Vinay Sharma laid a naka and intercepted a pedestrian, who was moving under suspicious circumstances.
During checking, police team recovered 55 grams heroin from the possession of the pedestrian and arrested him.
The arrested person has been identified as Mohammad Javed, son of Bashir Mohammad of Seela District Reasi.
A case under FIR Number 140/19 under Section 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Bishnah Police Station led by Inspector Deepak Pathania laid a naka near Chak Bana and intercepted a motorcycle.
During checking, police team recovered 7.5 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The accused has been identified as Sanjay Sharma alias Billa, son of Uttam Chand, a resident of Chak Murara, Tehsil Bishnah, District Jammu.
A case under FIR Number 221/19 under Section 8/21/22/25 NDPS Act has been registered at Bishnah Police Station and investigation started.
