All Srinagar-bound flights cancelled from Jammu Airport

JAMMU : All Srinagar-bound flights remained suspended from here on Thursday following poor visibility due to fog while the weatherman has predicted inclement weather conditions for the next 36 hours across the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
“All flights to Srinagar from Jammu stand cancelled on Thursday,” official sources here said.
They added that flights to New Delhi and other destinations are on time, adding, “the Srinagar passengers have been informed accordingly regarding cancellation of flights.”
Meteorological Department Director Sonam Lotus said that this morning, light rain and snow on higher reaches occurred at many places of Kashmir whereas weather remained cold and dry in Ladakh and Jammu regions.
“Visibility in plains of Kashmir improved slightly and no significant improvement is expected today,” he added.
He said that the minimum Temperature in Leh was minus 10.6 degree Celsius, minus 7 degree in Srinagar and 10.6 degree in Jammu.
Mr Lotus predicted moderate rain and snow during next 24 to 36 hours and added, “heavy snowfall on higher reaches of Jammu, Kashmir and Kargil district during above period mainly tonight and tomorrow.”
The warning category for weather is “Orange” and the administration has been advised to remain updated and prepared.
