Traders Federation demands deployment of cops, regular patrolling in sensitive areas

JAMMU, Dec 12: Station House Officer (SHO) Gandhi Nagar Inspector Gurnam Singh has asked the traders to install CCTV cameras in their respective areas so as curb the crime rate.
He stated this during w meeting the traders of Ware House/Nehru Market here today.
In the meeting, SHO appealed to the traders to cooperate with the Police Department to curb the incidents of snatching.
“Police is capable to arrest the snatchers, but cooperation of the traders will help more to arrest the snatchers and put them behind the bars”, Inspector Gurnam Singh added.
In this meeting held in the office of the Traders Federation Ware House-Nehru Market, the SHO appealed to the traders to install CCTV cameras in their shops as it helps a lot in crime prevention. “If any suspicious movement is noticed in the area inform the police”, SHO stated.
Appealing the traders to be sensitive towards the activities in their area, the SHO said that the police can do a better job only with the cooperation of the public.
On the occasion, General Secretary of the Federation Deepak Gupta raised several issues regarding security arrangements before the police officer.
“Ware House-Nehru Market is a whole sale market where trade of lakhs of rupees took place on daily basis, but there is no provision for security of traders”, Gupta said and demanded deployment of policemen in the area and increased patrolling in the evening.
Gupta said that there are many sensitive areas including parking lot where police personnel should be deployed and regular patrolling should be conducted so that suspects can be caught easily.
During the meeting, the issue of daily traffic jams on Ware House Main Road was also raised.
Among others present were Senior Vice President of Federation Dheeraj Gupta, Vice President Munish Mahajan, Secretary Abhimanyu Gupta and Cashier Vishal Gupta.
