HYDERABAD, Mar 20: The Principal Special CBI Court today extended the judicial remand of YSR Congress Party President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy till April 1 in the disproportionate assets case registered against him.
Judge U Durga Prasada Rao passed the order after conducting the proceedings through video conference from Chanchalguda Central Jail where Mr Jagan was lodged.
The Judge extended the remand after the CBI informed the court the investigation was still under progress.
The Judge also extended the remand of Former Karnataka BJP Minister Gali Janardhan Reddy till April 1 in the illegal Mining case of Obulapuram Mining Company (OMC).
The Judge also extended the judicial remand till April 1 of Vanpic Developer Nimmagadda Prasad and Bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy who were also cited as accused in the disproportionate assets case of Mr Jagan.
The judge also extended remand till April 1 of Obulapruam Mining Company (OMC) case accused B V Srinivas Reddy, V D Rajagopal and Gali Janardhan Reddy’s personal assistant K Mehfuz Ali Khan.
Suspended IAS officer B P Acharya, Vijay Raghav Reddy and Koneru Prasad, all accused in the Emaar case, Jagan’s auditor V Vijay Sai Reddy who was on bail and IAS officer M Samuel have turned up in the court as per its directions in the disproportionate assets case.
The court also extended the judical remand through video conference of Jagan’s assets case accused and Former Minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao and Emaar Accused N Sunil Reddy till April 1.
Mr Jagan was arrested by the CBI on May 27, 2012 after the CBI found investments to the tune of Rs 850 crore pumped into his companies–Jagathi Publications, Indira Television, Bharathi Cement, Sandur Power, Carmel Asia and others–by firms and individuals in return for lands allotted to them during Mr Jagan’s father and Late Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s tenure.
