JAMMU, Dec 13: The 7th Inter-school and Senior Karate Championship, organised by Shito-Ryu Karate School of J&K, concluded at SNS Vidya Mandir School, Talab Tillo, here today.
In total, participants from 14 different schools of Jammu participated in this competition in different weight and age groups.
In the valedictory function of the championship, Chief Engineer (Retd), KK Gupta was the chief guest, who presented medals to the position holders.
Speaking to the gathering of participants and their parents, Gupta appreciated the enthusiasm among young students towards sports. He also lauded the efforts of the organisers in grooming the raw talent into medal winners.
Dr AS Bhadia and Kuljeet Singh Jamwal were guests of honour.
Among others, who were present included General Secretary, Amit Singh, Joint Secretary, Ramesh Raina, Treasurer Vikas Dhar, Chief Executive member, Opinder Singh and Chief Legal Advisior, Advocate Rajesh Bhushan.
Later, the organisers expressed their gratitude to the management of the host school, SNS Vidya Mandir and Manmita Das Raina for support and encouragement.
The championship was sponsored by Rayat Bahra University (Mohali).
Earlier, in Junior boys category, Saksham Manhas of Army Public School, Kaluchak won gold while in junior girls group, Harseerat Kaur of SKV School clinched the gold.
