JAMMU, Dec 16: Men and women Judokas were selected for the participation of Inter-University Judo tournament during the selection trials conducted under the Department of Dean Students Welfare, Cluster University of Jammu at GGM Science College, here today.
Prof (Dr) Koushal Samnotra, Principal GGM Science College was the chief guest on the occasion.
In men’s section, the selected players include Gulshan Kumar, Sparsh Sharma, Raman Kumar, Sahil Sawarni, Azad Chander Sharma, Lakhan Baru and Sumit Kumar, who were selected under the weight categories of 60 KG,-66 KG, -73 KG, -81, -90 KG, -100 KG and open weight respectively.
In women’s section, Ayushi Uniyal, Garima Sharma, Bhumika Mahajan, Suhasi Kiran and Shika Bhau were selected under the weight categories of -48 KG, -52 KG, -57 KG, 63 KG, 70 KG and in open weight respectively.
Dr Vinod Bakshi, Sports Coordinator CLUJ and Physical Director GGM Science College, Jammu; Prof Raj Kumar Gupta, Prof Naveen Anand, Prof Arun Sharma, Prof Jagjit Singh, Dr Roopali Slathia, Physical Director GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu, Neelam Chalotra, Assistant Physical Director MAM College and Pawan Giri, Assistant Physical Director GGM Science College were present during the selection trials.
The selection trials were conducted under the supervision of Suraj Bhan Singh, Senior Judo Coach of J&K Sports Council, Jammu.
