DPS Jammu celebrates Christmas

JAMMU, Dec 20: DPS Jammu organized a Special Assembly on Christmas here today with great zeal and enthusiasm.
SS Sodhi, PVC/Director, DPS Schools, J&K was the chief guest on the occasion.
In keeping with the mood of celebration, the stage and school were artistically adorned with Christmas tree, Candy Canes, Mistletoes and Holly leaves creating a heavenly ambience.
The Special Assembly began with the school prayer by Moksha Tickoo of class XI. Students ushered the Christmas spirit with soul stirring rendition of age old carols and nativity scene showcasing the birth of Lord Jesus, Prince of Peace, real essence of Christmas.
They beautifully created sequence of scenes reminiscing the events related to Virgin Mary and birth of Jesus Christ.
This enactment was enlivened by enthusiastic fairies, Shepherds, Lambs and around 200 Carol Singers dressed in attractive attires.
Young dancers of Pre-Primary Wing further added to the festive mood by happily dancing on the merry tunes of Christmas. Carrying forward the upbeat festivity happiness with utmost zeal, vigour and energy were the students of Primary Wing dancing on the beats of “We wish you a merry Christmas”.
The chief guest felicitated students of various state and national level Sports, Literary and Inter-DPS events, wherein 210 students were awarded trophies and certificates of merit.
The annual school magazines ‘Jharna’, ‘Tarini’, & ‘Kriti’ were also released on the occasion by the chief guest alongwith Principal and Staff.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sodhi congratulated the Principal, Staff and Students for their ahievements.
Principal, DPS Jammu, Ruchi Chabra, Headmistress, Meenu Gupta and Ravi Kotroo extended their greetings on the occasion.
The whole event was compeered by Ayush Karn (IX) & Niyati Talwar (VIII) impeccably. The vote of thanks was presented by House Warden, Tawi House, Akshay Gupta.
