Alexander Memorial celebrates Annual Day-Cum Prize Distribution Function

JAMMU, Dec 20: Alexander Memorial Higher Secondary School, Eidgah Road, Jammu celebrated the ‘Junior Annual Day-Cum-Prize Distribution Function and Christmas in the school premises, today.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor, Municipal Corporation Jammu was the chief guest, while Rajesh Gupta, Former MLA and Dr Sudhir Singh, Joint Secretary J&K State Board of School Education, Jammu were the guests of honour.
Johnny William, former IGP, SM Gill, Ex MLC, Seema Rohmetra and Sapna Sangra, Faculty Jammu University, Dr Ashwani Jojra, Founder Member Sahyog India, Adeeb Mehta, members of the management and the Pastorate Committee, Principals of various schools of Jammu, parents of the students and other dignitaries also graced the occasion.
The Principal, Esther William welcomed the chief guest.
The programme started with the reading of a Psalm from the Holy Bible by Rev Udai Singh, Presbyter-in-charge St. Paul’s Church, Jammu. He gave the Christmas message – the message of Joy, Hope and Peace.
The programme had reciting of Shlokas, Gurbani, Ayaat and Bible verses and a poem on nation’s growth and strength.
Vandana, action songs on Mother Earth, Punjabi Dance, Fishermen Dance, Choir dances, English Skit- Alexander & Porus and Christmas Play depicting the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, were the main items.
The chief guest and the guests of honour gave away certificates of merit, medals and cups to the students who excelled in academics.
The dignitaries applauded the school management for good show.
The vote of thanks was presented by SK Munshi, School Co-ordinator.
The function came to an end with the presentation of national anthem.
