JAMMU, Dec 23: “AOI Christmas T-20 Cricket Championship”, an annual feature of the Christian Fellowship Trust and Christian Sports Organization Jammu will commence tomorrow at Parade Ground here.
This was informed by Rajesh Gill President of the Christian Sports Organization and Organizing Secretary of the championship.
The slogan of the Championship is “Be Healthy—Don’t Do Drugs” and it will be organized jointly under the banner of Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Christian Sports Organization Jammu and supported by American Oncology Institute, Horizon Group of Companies and Parade Sports Association Jammu. The co-sponsors of the championship are South Indian Bank, Federal Bank Jammu and Mahajan Special Rice Jammu.
“The main objective of the championship is to involve the youths in sports so that they didn’t get involve in drugs and can live a healthy life”, Gill stated.
“20 teams considered for the event, red balls will be used and cash prize of Rs. 30,000/- along with the Trophies and individual mementoes will be awarded to the winner and runner-up teams in the valedictory function of the event”, Gill said.
The opening match will be played between Media-XI and AOI/ASCOMS XI and the participating team includes AOI/ASCOM XI, Media XI. New Rising Stars, KC Academy, Eleven Stars, Deepu Cricket Club, Raja Warriors, Krishna Club, Christian Sports Organization, Vivek Cricket Academy, Secretariat Blues, Road & Safety Department, Friends Club, Vishal Cricket Club, KC Sports Club, Lakshmi Club, Singh Cricket Club Akhnoor, Simula Cricket Club, Horizon Club and Samba Club.
The member of the organizing committee includes Rajesh Gill, Asif Gill, David Mattoo, Edwin Khokher, Grifan Gill, Vijay Saberwal, Harsh Nayar, Sudhir Singh, Sunny Gill, Victor Sotra, Kewel Sotra and Justina Victor.
The championship will be organized under the overall supervision of Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu and Rajesh Gill former Ranji Player.
