SUNDERBANI, Dec 27: Jammu Kashmir Sharnarthi Action Committee (JKSAC) has demanded implementation of the report of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs with regard to comprehensive package to the displaced persons from PoJK and West Pakistan.
A meeting of DP’s of 1947 from PJK was held at Dak Banglow, Sunderbani in district Rajouri under the Joint Chairmanship of Kishori Dutt and Shiv Ram, both Sarpanchs. The DP’s of the adjoining villages participated and sought acceptance and implementation of Joint Parliamentary Committee on Home Affairs Report No. 183, which recommended urgent payment of Rs 30 lakhs as ex-gratia relief to each DP’s family till the Govt of India ascertains value of their left out properties on that side of the LoC/ border.
While interacting with the participants in the meeting, Gurdev Singh, president along with Roshan Lal, general secretary and Tarlok Singh Tara, president District Poonch appealed to both the MP’s of Jammu Region, Jugal Kishore Sharma and Dr Jitendra Singh to approach Lt. Governor G.C. Murmu to stress upon the Central Govt for early implementation of JPC Report.
He said that onus now lies on State leadership of BJP and their MP’s to take up the one time settlement issue of DP’s seriously with Lt Governor well as Central Govt as they were given the massive mandate by DP’s along with other people of the region. He said that hope had generated among DP’s after the State BJP came into the power that their issues would be projected to Central Govt for final settlement as per commitments made with DP’s for number of times by the senior leaders of Party.
Appealing the DP’s to strengthen the struggle to achieve their adequate rehabilitation, Gurdev Singh, said that the DP’s should prepare themselves for this noble cause by identifying and acknowledging the services of all those elders, who champions the cause of DP’s of 1947. He said that JKSAC is seized of all the legitimate issues particularly compensation for the left over properties, reservation for their wards in services/institutions de-freezing of Assembly seats of their share and reimbursement of Rs 2500 deducted uniformly as caused of allotted land, plots and quarters and added that these issues are being vociferously projected at various forums of the Govt and struggling for their resolutions.
