JAMMU, Dec 31: Christian Sports Cricket Club defeated Samba Cricket Club to seal berth in the semifinals, while Jatin Wadhawan’s brilliant 83 runs took Horizon Cricket Club in the quarterfinals of the ongoing “AOI Christmas T20 Cricket Championship,” being jointly organized by Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu, Christian Sports Organization Jammu and supported by American Oncology Institute, Horizon Group of Companies, KC Sports Club & Parade Sports Association Jammu.
In the first quarterfinal, Christian Sports Organization Club defeated Samba Cricket Club by 25 runs.
Batting first, Christian Sports Club scored 140 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 16 overs. KKartik top scored with 58 runs, while Sunny Gill and Rayees contributed 15 and 10 runs respectively.
Shashi, Vishal, Rishab and Anku took 1 wicket each.
In reply, Samba Cricket Club scored 115 runs in the allotted 16 overs by losing 9 wickets thus lost the match by 25 runs.
Anku (33) and Shubam (19) were the main scorers. Ambroose took 4 wickets, while Jamat Ali bagged 3 wickets. Sunny and Rayees claimed 1 wicket each. Ambroose was adjudged as the man of the match.
Meanwhile Fr. Kuriakose President Christian Fellowship Trust Jammu and Chairman Christian Sports Organization congratulated the Christian Sports Club and Captain Sunny Gill for showing good performance.
In the last Pre-quarterfinal match, Horizon Cricket Club defeated Krishna Cricket Club Akhnoor by 68 runs.
Batting first Horizon Cricket Club scored 151 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in the allotted 16 overs with Jatin Wadwan 83 runs and Paras Sharma 23.
