JAMMU, Dec 31: Teachers of Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory have urged the Lt Governor G C Murmu to change their pay scale at par with the teachers of Central Government/others UTs of India.
“Despite the promise made by PM Narendra Modi and Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh who said that everything will be equivalent to Centre, we have been given only allowances whereas our Pay scales have not been made equivalent to Central Government,” said these teachers in a statement, issued here today.
These teachers also demanded enhancement of the matching share in favour of NPS employees from 10 percent to 14 percent as Central Government has raised the same since April 2019.
These demands were highlighted during a meeting of the teachers, who included Gurmeet Singh, Sucheta Hansa, Shweta Gupta, Sanjay Gupta, Neeraj Sharma, Yogendra Singh, Vijay Kumar, Neetu Sharma, Arjun Gupta, Jagjeet Singh and others.
