JAMMU, Jan 2: The 16th National ITF Taekwondo Championship was held at Udaipur, Rajasthan in which a 24 member team from the Union Territory of J&K participated.
J&K got the first runner-up shield in medals category with 18 Gold, 6 Silver and 3 Bronze medals followed by Rajasthan with 14 Gold, 9 Silver and 8 Bronze medals. Gujarat took 1st place with 30 Gold 18 Silver and 7 Bronze medals.
The two students from J&K UT, Bhavin Thakur and Geetansh Thakur were qualified for the 2nd Degree Black Belt.
The Gold Medal winners were Sparsh, Santushti, Simran, Vansh Rathore, Manpreet Singh, Arsh Sharma, Akshdeep Singh, Kaustav Mukherjee, Saksham Banerjee, Karan Gandotra, Rohit Kumar, Hardik Gupta, Raju Kumar, Geetansh Thakur and Bhavin Thakur.
The Silver Medal winners were Himadri Rana, Abhirath Chambyal, Shaurya Sharma, Pavneet Kour, Akshdeep Singh, Vinayak Pandey and Geetansh Thakur.
The Bronze Medal winners were Vansh Rathore, Kaustav Mukherjee, Saksham Banerjee and Bhavin Thakur.
The team was led by Chief Coach Mukesh Thakur, Pawan Jamwal Vice President of the Association and Sachin Thakur Treasurer.
The best referee award of the championship was presented to Mukesh Thakur, 3rd Dan Black Belt.
