JAMMU, Mar 22: General Officer Commanding (GOC) 16 Corps Army Lt Gen D S Hooda today said 200 to 300 militants are waiting for an opportune moment to sneak into this side from across the Line of Control (LoC).
In a brief chat with media after inaugurating passenger reservation system for providing railway reservation at Kishtwar, Lt Gen Hooda said Army is fully prepared to counter terror threat.
He said from time to time they are receiving inputs about militants plan to infiltrate into this side.
Regarding building of clamour for revocation of Arms Forced Special Power Act (AFSPA) by the State Government – despite increase in militancy related incidents in the Valley, the GOC 16 Corps said that Army has already submitted its recommendations to the Government over the issue.
“So far as Army is concerned we have already submitted our recommendations to the Government over the issue and it was now up to the Government to look into our recommendations before making any decision on it”, he added.
