JAMMU, Jan 14: Jammu and Kashmir athletes excelled in 40th Masters National Athletic Championship, organised at Khozikode, Kerala from January 10 to 13.
15 athletes participated in the event, who were selected by Veterans’ Athletic Association of Union Territory under the aegis of Sports Council of India.
Jasbir Singh clinched Gold in Discus Throw while Capt Jagdish Chander claimed Gold while taking part in Discus, Shot Put and Javelin. Bhushan Singh bagged God in 1500 meters’ run whereas Manzoor Ahmed Dar succeeded to win Bronze in Javelin Throw and Mangat Singh Manhas won Gold in 10,000 meters, 5000 meters and 1500 meters.
