JAMMU, Jan 20: Shiksha Niketan organised inter school spell – bee quiz competition of class 2nd here today in its school premises.
Principal of Shamerock Magic Tree School, Shifali who was chief guest of the competition said co-curricular activities are part and parcel of an all round development of the individual.
In the event, the students of different schools participated. There were four participants from each school. The competition consists of three rounds including spell the words, meaning of the words, and missing letters.
It was one of the numerous enjoyable competition that gave students a platform to learn spellings in different ways and also helped the students to improve their spellings, increase their vocabulary, learn concepts and develop the use of corrects English.
The students participated earnestly in this competition. Their efforts and initiative was appreciated by one and all. The first position was bagged by RM Public School, second by Carmel Convent School while third by Shiksha Niketan Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar Jammu.
The chief guest felicitated the winner students. Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of school lauded the efforts put in by the staff and students for the competition and said that students must be inspired to learn basic understanding of grammar, punctuation and correct usage of the English language.
