Inter-Panchayat/Block Level Cricket Tournament

JAMMU, Jan 22: Friends Cricket Club and Singh Cricket Club scripted emphatic victories over their rivals in the ongoing Inter-Panchayat/Block Level Cricket Tournament, being organised by the Department of Youth Services and Sports in collaboration with J&K Sports Council at Parade ground, here.
The Tournament is being held under the patronage of Director General Youth Services and Sports, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman, while it is being supervised by senior Cricket coaches of J&K Sports Council, Naveen Sharma and Randhir Singh.
Sukhdev Raj Sharma, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Jammu is the Organising Secretary of the tournament.
Earlier, in the first match, Friends Cricket Club defeated United Cricket Club by 13 runs.
Batting first, Friends Cricket Club scored 111 runs in the allotted overs. Ajaz Ahmed top scored with 34 runs, while Imtiyaz and Ashiq Manzoor contributed 24 runs each.
In reply, United Cricket Club managed to score 98 runs to lose the match by a narrow margin of 13 runs. Vinod top scored with 43 runs. Ashiq Manzoor took 2 wickets from Friends Cricket Club, which fetched him man of the match award.
In another match of the day, Singh Cricket Club got the better of Khour Cricket Club to move into the next round.
