JAMMU, Jan 22: Musaif Ajaz scored magnificent 92 runs off 128 balls, with 10 fours and 2 sixes to help Jammu and Kashmir gain a vital 1st innings lead of 69 runs against Tripura in the ongoing CK Nayudu Under-23 Trophy at Country Cricket Stadium, here today.
Earlier, resuming from an overnight score of 158/7, Tripura were bundled out for 178 runs in their first innings. Sankar Paul top scored with 73 runs, while RN Saha contributed 41 runs to the total. From J&K, Imtiyaz Ahmed Ganai captured 4 wickets, while Rouf Ahmed Bhat claimed 3 wickets. Taizeem Younis Tak and Saksham Sharma claimed 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, J&K rode on Musaif’s brilliant innings to score 247 in their first innigs, thus gaining a lead of 69 runs. Abhishant Bakshi (39) and Nipun Verma (33) were the other contributors to the total. From Tripura, TR Mandal and SS Ghosh took 4 wickets each.
Tripura, in the second essay were struggling at 45/3, with Sankar Paul (16) and Chandan Ray (1) at the crease. From J&K, Lone Nasir Muzzafar, Imtiyaz Ahmed Ganai and Saksham Sharma claimed one wicket each.
