JAMMU, Jan 23: Deputy Mayor, JMC, Purnima Sharma here today laid the foundation stone for the construction of a Nallah at Mohalla Chougan Slathia in Ward No. 1.
A handout of JMC stated that estimate cost of the project is Rs. 4.5 lakh and it was an old pending demand of the locals.
Walls of the Nallah were damaged which led to frequent choking.
The Deputy Mayor directed the officials to make sure that the whole construction work gets completed within stipulated time and the quality of work should also be up to the mark.
She also requested the locals not to throw garbage and polythene bags in the Nallah and support JMC to make Jammu a neat and clean city.
Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) assured the Deputy Mayor that the work will be completed within specific time and it will be up to the mark.
AEE, Ashok Sharma; Ramesh Koul, JE; Shubh Lata Sharma, Anuradha Sharma, Sunita Wazir, Vandana Tehar, Sukh Devi, Kamala Devi, Veena Devi, Gopal Magotra, Gopal Sanmotra, Dhyan Singh, Ram, Raj Singh, Ram Tharoop (Baru) and other prominent citizens of Ward No. 1 were also present on the occasion.
