Sir,
Tragic bus accident in Kotranka area of district Rajouri on March 8, has once again made many families to weep by losing their kith and kins. Death of 15 and injuries to 24 is an irreparable loss not only of the concerned families, but also of the society and the area on the whole. The Govt’s rescue efforts are undoubtedly praiseworthy and the financial assistance extended is also needed in such cases, but even after a long chain of accidents and loss of inavaluable lives the society has been suffering, nothing concrete seems to have been done to avoid overloading, rash driving and for maintenance of good roads. Ill-maintained and broken roads often contribute in such tragedies. Since safety and security of citizens is prime duty of the Govts and therefore, taking any step to check such happenings can’t be over-emphasised. Accidental deaths are more dangerous than war casualties as the later are sacrificed for the country and the former only bring sorrows and lamentations.
Yours etc….
