SRINAGAR, Jan 24: Director General of Police, J&K, Dilbag Singh paid a surprise visit to the Police Station Pantha Chowk last evening and took stock of the functioning of Police station.
He inspected Police Station and checked police records and discussed various issues relating to the welfare of police personnel.
Director General, who was accompanied by the Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar, enquired about the working of Police Station in crime prevention, investigation and maintaining law & order. He interacted with the jawans and officers working in Thana and enquired from them about the facilities available to them. He asked them to take benefits from the welfare schemes framed by the PHQ.
Dilbag Singh impressed upon the personnel to be more dedicated towards professional duties and continue to work for safety, security of the people. He said that fight against crime is our prime duty and all available sources should be utilised to curb the activities of the criminals. People’s cooperation has been paying good dividends in making our efforts more innovative and fruitful. Quick response to the problems of the people strengthens our relations and it is the responsibility of supervisory officers to review these relations from time to time and ensure that the grievances of the people are addressed genuinely, Singh said.
The DGP also listened to the grievances of the personnel and gave on spot direction to redress the genuine issues of the jawans.
SP West Srinagar Mushim Ahmad along with the SHO briefed the DGP regarding the working of the Police Station. He gave details of the important crime cases and deployments in the areas under the jurisdiction of the Police Station.
