POONCH, Jan 24: Baila-Fatehpur Road of Mandi tehsil in district Poonch is facing Govt apathy as the road is lying in shambles and no repair work has been initiated by the PWD agency on it since long.
A large population of the villages along this road in Mandi is suffering badly and despite issuing frequent appeals to the District Administration and the concerned Executive Engineer, the things have not improved for them till date.
The inhabitants of Baila, Fatehpur, Danna, Serikhawaja and adjoining areas are suffering badly because of the worst condition of the road which needs repair of broken surface and black topping. About 15 kms stretch of this PWD road is in worst condition. This link also connects Bafliaz and Mughal Road.
Sarpanch Baila Abdul Razak and a local Farooq Ahmed said that no action was taken by the PWD authorities as the matter was taken up with them several times. No repair work was initiated by the agency on this road. The private vehicle operators avoid to ply their vehicles on this road where potholes are visible all along. During rainy season the condition turns more grim. They sought the intervention of Governor’s Advisor in this connection.
