JAMMU, Jan 30: Inter-panchayat tournament for Boys and Girls under 20 years age group of block Udhampur and under 25 years age group of the blocks Vijaypur and Nud in disciplines of Kabaddi,Tug of War and Kho-Kho concluded today.
The tournament is being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports under the banner of “Khelo India” under overall supervision of Director General of Youth Services and Sports, Dr Sallem-ur- Rehman.
Santosh Kumari, ZPEO Udhampur was the chief guest and Tarsem Kalsi, ZPEO Tikri was the guest of hounour. 260 Boys and Girls drawn from 23 Panchayats of the Udhampur block were participated in the competition. the competition was held under the overall guidance of Swarn Singh DYSS Officer, Udhampur.
In kabaddi discipline (Boys), panchayat Sandrani bagged first position and panchayat Barta got runner up position. Whereas (in Girls), panchayat Seen Brahmna clinched first and panchayat Dhalpar secured runner up position.
While in Tug of War discipline, panchayat Krimchi declared winner team and panchayat Jaganoo declared as runner up team in boys categories. In Girls categories, Panchayat Rathian got winner trophy and Panchayat Dhalpar got runner up.
All the matches were officiated by Parminder Manhas, Raj Kumar, Vinod Khajuria, Sanjay Gupta, Sudesh Kumar, Kuldeep Kumar, Kanchan Sharma, Deepika Manhas, Naveen Kumar, Vinod Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Pushap Kumar, Rakesh Khajuria, Rajesh Sharma, Romesh Chander, Sorabh Pandit and Sonali Nagrota.
Similarly, the inter panchayat block level competition of blocks Vijaypur and Nud were held at MV International School, Vijaypur in which KL Dogra, Principal of MV International School was the chief guest while Sarpanch (Vijaypur), Sarpanch (Party-Patti) and Panch (Nud) were also present on the occasion.
120 boys and girls of 11 panchayats were participated in the event.
In discipline of Kho-kho (Boys), of block Nud: Panchayat Garh beat Panchayat Dhora by six points and Panchayat Sarna (A) defeated Panchayat Bharat Garh (B) by three points.
Block Vijaypur: Panchayat Rahya declared winner over Panchayat Dabuj Sehzada by five points.
Block Nud: Panchayat Bharat Garah (A) defeated Panchayat Sarian (B) by two points and another match Panchayat Sarian (A) declared winner by defeating Panchayat Mananu.
The final match of Panchayat Nud was played between Panchayat Sarian (A) and Panchayat Garh (A) wherein Bharat Garh won the match by seven points.
In Tug of War discipline (Boys), the match was played between Panchayat Sarian Vs Panchayat Vijaypur in which Panchayat Vijaypur won the match by 2-1 sets.
In girls categories, Panchayat Vijaypur won the match from Panchayat Gadwal (B) by 2-0 set.
