JAMMU, Feb 2: The J&K State Master’s Badminton Championship 2019 was inagurated today by Dr OD Sharma, Vice President Badminton Association of India (BAI) and Chairman J&K Badminton Association in an impressive, well attended and colourful function at Badminton Hall, Indoor Sports Complex, MA Stadium, here.
About 220 Master Badminton players of the Union Territory of J&K are taking part in this Championship, which is being organised by J&K Badminton Association.
The J&K Badminton Team will be selected in this Championship in accordance with the performance of the players.
The selected players will represent the Union Territory in the 44th Master’s National Badminton championships-2019-20 being held at Jaipur (Rajasthan) from February 23 to February 29, 2020.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr OD Sharma welcomed all the participants and advised them to play sporting spirit for better results.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Balbir Singh Jamwal, General Secretary, J&K Badminton Association, Som Raj Gupta, Sunil Gurkha, Anil Gurkha and Vivek Mehta, while Sat Pal Sharma, SAI Badminton coach was the technical official.
The matches were conducted under the supervision of Rahul Sharma, Chief Referee.
