MENDHAR, Mar 26: Mendhar Club (MC) defeated Sudan Club (SC) in the finals and lifted the title trophy of the Inter-Village Kabaddi Tournament, organized during the three days long “Mendhar Sports Mela”, which concluded Government Higher Secondary School (Boys), here today.
Meanwhile, in the finals of the Inter-Village Volleyball Tournament, Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Harni outplayed Harni Club and lifted the title trophy.
On the valedictory function, DIG Rajouri-Poonch range Danish Rana was the chief guest, who awarded the winners and runner-ups in presence of SP Poonch Shamsheer Hussain, Additional SP Youghal Manhas, SDPO Mendhar Amit Bhasin, Army officers, locals and sports lovers.
While speaking, DIG appreciated the players for their effort and encouraged them to make the best use of such a platform to display their sporting talent.
He also emphasized on the importance of games and sports in the overall development of the youth vis-à-vis mentally and physically.
The “Sports Mela” was organized by J&K Police under Civic Action Programme.
