JPPF to hold protest against discrimination with Jammu

JAMMU, Mar 26: Jammu Province People Forum (JPPF) will hold a strong protest on March 29 against the partisan role of ruling coalition in solving the unemployment problem in Jammu region and discrimination with Jammu in allocation of funds for development activities.
Chairing a meeting of JPPP, Pavittar Singh, retired District and Sessions Judge, said that the JPPF is going to hold a strong protest against the State Government’s discrimination with Jammu region in all fields, whether it is tourism, Industry, health or any other.
He alleged that Jammu Province is being discriminated in allocation of funds for development. Moreover, installation of Ropeway Project Mahamaya -Panjthirthi and tourist spots in Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri, Kishtwar, Doda , Badherwah are being delayed unnecessarily just due to the negligent attitude of the Government.
Pavittar Singh also demanded immediate protection for the elected Panchs and Sarpanchs in view of threat to their lives.
Expressing grave concern over the condition of PoK refugees, the Forum said that it fully supports the cause of PoK refugees and appeals the coalition Government to issue one time settlement orders in respect of their demands in a time bound frame work.
The meeting condemned the Government for not giving proper attention to provide job opportunities to the youth of the region, adding most of the recruitments are done through pick and choose policy that too from the back door.
The Forum members criticized the Government for turning deaf ears to the demands of owners of ETT institutions, who are sitting on hunger strike since long, just to prevent their institutions, which are at the verge of closure.
