DDC chairs DLRC meet

SAMBA, Mar 26: A meeting of bankers and District/Sectoral Officers was held to review the progress and performance of bankers in key areas relating to deposits/advances and priority sector lending for the quarter ending December 2012.
The District Development Commissioner, Samba Mubarak Singh while chairing the meeting took threadbare review of progress of various departments like DRDA, KVIB, KVIC, DIC, Employment, SC/ST/OBC Corporation, Agriculture, Animal/Sheep Husbandry etc. under various schemes like SGSY, SGSRY, JKSSES, PMEGP.
It was informed that the deposit and advances of banks as on ending December 2012 stood at Rs 1763.59 crore and Rs 914.39 crore respectively, thus achieving a CD ratio of 51.85 %. Further, District has achieved 62.66% targets in priority sector advances upto ending December 2012.
Lead Bank Manager, V.K Wali while giving a detailed account of the performance of Banks, informed that the progress under agriculture advances, priority sectors, weaker sections and credit flow to women beneficiaries has been above the RBI stipulations.
The house was informed that against the bench mark of 40 percent under priority sector advances and 18 per cent under agriculture advances, the banks have comfortably achieved 73.04 percent and 25.10 percent targets respectively.
The DDC expressed his satisfaction over the CD Ratio and said upon  that efforts should continue to surpass the ratio achieved as on ending March, 2013 .He also stressed  on the bankers to lend under DRI advances to help the weaker sections of society.
He further advised the sponsoring agencies to conduct awareness camps in the villages especially in far flung and border areas to expand their orbit so that more people are educated, motivated and facilitated to initiate self employment enterprises.
Surinder Singh, DDM NABARD apprised the house that NABARD has prepared Potential Linked Credit Plan for District Samba in lines with XII Five Year Plan and said this plan is the basis for formulation of Annual Credit Plan of the District. The DDC also unveiled the PLP 2012-17on the Occasion.
Suchitra Bhattacharya from Reserve bank of India also spoke about the financial inclusion programme of Government of India.
Among others, the meeting was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Neelam Kumari Sethi, Chief Planning Officer, Sant Ram, Representatives of RBI, NABARD and other banks.
