Punjab FC outplays Lone Star Kashmir FC by solitary goal

SMVDSB hosts 2nd Division 1- League Football match

KATRA, Feb 8: Punjab FC scripted a solitary goal win over Lone Star Kashmir FC in the ongoing 2nd Division I-League Football Tournament, organised by Lone Star Kashmir FC & Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) in collaboration with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) Sports Complex, under the aegis of Football Federation of Indian, here today.
After a brilliant display of soccer skills by the players of both the teams Larinchhan of Punjab succeeded in scoring a field goal in the first half to gain a much needed lead. The lone star forwards attempted a good number of shots to score an equalizer but failed to succeed in their attempts.
It were the strong defender Sonic Das and extraordinary agile goalkeeper Devenish Das from Punjab FC XI, which prevented Lone Star players to succeed despite powerful shots.
In the 2nd half, riding on superb display by forwards Shahnawaz and Shakir, the Lone Star FC consolidated their position and thwarted the attempts of the rival players, not allowing them to score any more goal. Finally, Punjab FC won by one goal to nil (1-0).
In the matches played earlier, Lone Star FC lost to Rajasthan by two goals to nil (0-2) and drew (3-3) against Garhwal.
After this home game, Lone Star Kashmir FC will play next two matches at Jamshedpur and Kolkata respectively.
Ramesh Kumar, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) SMVDSB was the chief guest on the occasion, who was introduced with the players and officials and wished them best of luck.
