JAMMU, Feb 10: Rohit Singh Sambyal, Director G Max IT Services’ brought laurels to J&K as one of his projects have been awarded gold medal in the 23rd National Conference on e-governance held in National Sports Club of India, Mumbai, Maharashtra by Government of India for category III (Excellence in District Level Initiative in e-Governance).
It is for the second time the firm has excelled at National scene as in 2016 it had to satisfy with a silver medal in National e-governance awards held at Vishakhapatnam in 2017.
“This prestigious award gives a big boost to this region (Jammu & Kashmir) which isn’t looked upon as a humble IT region. His entrepreneurship will motivate many from this region who are complacent of lack of resources in IT infrastructure.
His team got appreciation from the Administration when he made it possible for PM Narendra Modi and the Chief Secretary of Uttarakhand to simultaneously watch and monitor the developmental works happening on the line of site of Kedarnath with the help of live feed presented to both of them through Drone Technology.
The project for which he was awarded was related to implementation of “District Adhoc Wireless Surveillance Communication System using Drone Technology” for District Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand in year 2019.
The project involved some custom changes in drone hardware and a wireless network involving hundreds of kilometres, through which the drone feed for reconstruction work happening at Shree Kedarnath Dham and at other places in the district was streamed to pan India through NIC network.
The award was presented by Dr Jitendra Singh, MoS PMO and Development of North Eastern Region, Chatrapati Shivaji, Secretary DARPG to the team members.
Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG ) along with Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, Government of India, in association with one of the State/UT Government organizes the National Conference on e-governance every year since 1997.
