JAMMU, Mar 28: Minister for Medical Education, Youth Services and Sports, Taj Mohi-ud-Din declared Lawyers Annual sports Meet open at University of Jammu.
Addressing the function, Minister announced financial assistance of Rs 1 lakh for boosting the morale of the organizing committee.
On behalf of State Government, Taj assured that Government will leave no stone unturned in supporting the Association and its activities.
Earlier, President JKHCBA and senior Advocate, M. K. Bhardwaj welcomed the chief guest and apprised about the activities of the Association.
He said the Sports Meet organized by J&K High Court Bar Association (JKHCBA) will conclude on March 31.
During five days of Tournament, several events of Cricket and Volleyball will be held in which large number of sports lovers of the State are expected to participate.
Inaugural Cricket Match was played between Royal XI and Spartans XI, followed by Paradise XI and Great Warrior, Sachin XI and Sunrise, Royal Club and K. C. Kings and Royal Warriors and New Stars cricket XI.
In the evening two volleyball matches were played between Mavericks and Ranbir Club and Spykers and Strikers.
Among others, the function was attended by former president of the Association B. S. Slathia, Chairman of Organizing Committee, Suresh Sharma, general secretary, Ranjit Singh Jamwal, and various prominent citizens.
Vice President of the Association Advocate Sindhu Sharma proposed vote of thanks.
