Bagh-Bein Club, Zorawar Club, Nanak Nagar Club qualify for next round

JAMMU, Mar 28: Bagh-Bein Hockey Club, Zorawar Club and Nanak Nagar Club stunned their opponents in their respective league matches and qualified for the next round of the Senior Hockey Tournament of district Jammu, being organized by Hockey J&K at KK Hakku Stadium, here today.
In the first match of the day, Bagh-Bein Club thrashed Situ Club, Simbal Camp by four goals to zero.
In the first half, JS Reen netted the first goal of the match in the 3rd minute, while Jaspinder scored the goal in the 13th minute and raised the scorecard to 2-0 goals.
Baldeep with excellent coordination between the hockey stick and the ball netted the goal in the 27th minute.
The players of Situ Club failed to equalize the score, and the first half ended with 3 goals leads over them.
In the second half, Jaspreet of Bagh-Bein club scored the goal in the 40th minute and raised the scorebaord to 4-0 goals.
After 40th minute, the players of Situ Club lost all hopes and lost the match by 4-0 goals.
In the second match, Zorawar Club defeated 157 TA team by 3-2 goals.
For Zorawar Club side, Abhinandan and Harshdev chipped in two and one goal respectively.
For 157 TA team, Sarleen Singh and Sushil Kumar netted the goal.
In the third match, Nanak Nagar Club routed Singh Club, Bandhu Rakh by 4-1 goals.
For Nanak Nagar Club side, Mandeep netted two goals, while Janak Singh and Joginder scored one goal each.
The matches were officiated by Dalbir Mehta, Charanjit Singh, Jagjeet Singh, D Singh and GS Bakshi.
Among others present were Rajan, Sports Officer, Sports Council, Romal Singh, general secretary, Hockey J&K, VK Kohli, Rajinder Singh, PP Singh, Sukhdev Singh, Harcharan Singh, etc.
