UDHAMPUR, Feb 20: Udhampur Club clinched both boys and girls titles in the Junior District Udhampur Kabaddi Championship held at Mini Stadium, here today.
In the girls final, Udhampur Club defeated Moungri Club 30-18. Later in boys title clash, Udhampur Club trounced Udhampur Club-b 39-30. Earlier, in the boys semifinals, Udhampur A beat Bhaskar College 46-14 and Udhampur-B trounced Khoon Club 44-28.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Udhampur-Reasi Range, Sujit Kumar Singh was the chief guest, who gave away the prizes. Additional SP Udhampur, Rajinder Kumar Katoch was guest of honour while Vice President Municipal Committee Udhampur, Surinder Singh Khalsa was special guest.
The final also witnessed by Kameshwar Puri (DySP, SO to DIG Udhampur Reasi Range), Santosh Kumari (ZPEO Udhampur), Poonam Sharma (ZPEO Jib), Raj Guru, Pawan Sharma, Suresh Khajuria, Sanjeev Bavoria and Vishal Bamotra.
The tournament held under the supervision of president, Sheikh Tanveer and general secretary, Ashok Kumar Sharma of the Udhampur District Kabaddi Association.
The matches officiated by the technical penal including Ravi Singh, Sanjay Sharma, Rakesh Kumar, Naveen Sharma, Kuldeep Sharma, Ramesh Sharma, Pushp Sharma, Vipin Photra, Sourabh Pandit, Ravi Kumar and Ram Kumar.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open yesterday by Additional Deputy Commissioner Udhampur, Gurvinderjeet Singh while ACD Udhampur, Mushtaq Ahmed Choudhary was guest of honour.
