JAMMU, Feb 23: Former Minister and senior leader of National Conference, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra called for shaping society as envisioned by Guru Ravi Dass Ji, who preached equality, oneness justice and food to all.
Mr Sadhotra was addressing a big congregation held at Guru Ravi Das Ji Mandir, Goh Manasan, Tikri, to celebrate Guru Ravi Dass Ji birth anniversary.
He said Sant Guru Ravi Dass ji was a highly elevated soul. “He was a saint, philosopher, poet, social reformer and prophet, specially for Dalits and always fought against untouchability and preached oneness. Guru ji said every body irrespective of caste, creed and colour should work hard to ensure every body gets food and no body sleeps empty stomach. Guru ji fought for the poor depressed class of the society and believed in empowerment of the depressed classes,” he added.
Quoting Guru Ravi Dass ji, National Conference leader said that untouchability is the biggest curse and it will weaken our country. He emphasized that richest tributes to Sant Guru Ravi Dass ji is that we should follow his teachings of oneness, equality, justice and food to all and work hard to make India our country strong.
On the occasion, Sadhotra congratulated the people, especially Guru Ravi Dass Samaj as well as organizers of the congregation, Guru Ravi Dass Mandir Committee. He told the committee that only organizing one or two functions was not sufficient and need of the hour was that the teachings of Sant Guru Ravi Dass ji should be taken to every door step irrespective of caste, creed and colour so that peace prosperity empowerment reaches to every person.
Those who accompanied Sadhotra, included Ashok Bawa, Chairman Municipal Committee Goh Manasan; former President Rattan Lal, Gopal Dass (Minta), Suresh, , Choudhary Kimat Lal, Choudhary Nagar, Rakesh Sharma, Sardar Hardeep Singh, Master Naseeb and others.
