Police organizes wrestling competition

RAJOURI, Mar 29: District police organized a wrestling competition at Koteranka, in which more than 80 wrestlers drawn from different districts took part and exhibited their talent.
On the occasion, Danesh Rana, DIG Rajouri-Poonch range was the chief guest.
The first round remained a tie between Nissar Ahmed and Prahlad Singh, while the second round was won by Balwan Singh of Kanthi Reasi who defeated Sajjad Hussain of Jammu. The third round was won by Hassan Din of Kathua by defeating Sher Mohd of Kanthi Reasi.
The wrestling competition was also held under the age group of 8, 15 and 18 years.
Danesh Rana distributed cash prizes of Rs 1000 each amongst the winner and Rs 500 each amongst the runners up wrestlers in presence of Deputy Commandant CRPF 72 Battalion, SSP Mubassir Latifi, Tehsildar Koteranka, local populace and sports lovers. Cash prizes were also given to the winners and runners up wrestlers of the 8, 15 and 18 years age group.
While speaking, Danesh Rana said J&K Police is organizing these tournaments to groom local talent.
Mubassir Latifi while speaking said that J&K Police has led from the front in upholding the rule of law, strengthening the integrity of the nation and maintaining communal harmony for ever lasting peace.
