JAMMU, Feb 26: The PHE workers today resumed their normal work after remaining on strike for 19 days in Jammu region.
A spokesman of PHE Employees United Front said that after two hour long meeting with the Commissioner/ Secretary PHE, I&FC Ajit Kumar Sahu and on his assurance late last evening, the 19-days’ strike was suspended till April 30. He said that in presence of senior PHE officials, the Commissioner assured to provide regular wages after March 31 and resolution of the demands with regard to pending wages by April ending this year besides regularization as well.
It may be recalled that employees and workers of PHE Department under the banner EUF went on strike on Feb 7. The strike badly hit the water supply position in Jammu region. The spokesman said if the Govt failed to address their issues by April 30, they would resume their strike.
