*Panthal emerges overall winner

REASI, Feb 27: District Youth Services & Sports Office Reasi conducted Inter-Block District level Chess and Carrom Tournament at General Zorawar Singh Sports Stadium here today.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Reasi Rajinder Kumar Sharma was the chief guest on the occasion.
The matches were played between winners of block level matches held earlier this month.
The chief guest appreciated the players for their good show.
ADC stressed on the need for participating in co-curricular activities and on the health benefits of sports. He also urged the youngsters to choose sports and nutritious diet over social evils.
A pledge of sportsmanship was also administered to the participants.
District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Subash Chander said that the matches are being organised under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Indu Kanwal Chib, as per the directions of Director General Youth Services and Sports J&K, Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman to identify and nurture talented youth across the district.

Block Panthal emerged overall winner of the Championship
In Chess boys, Diksham, Rahul and Kavi of Block Panthal won gold whereas Tushar and Suhail of Block Katra bagged silver medal and Sumesh, Brijesh of block Reasi claimed bronze.
In Carrom boys, Bavya, Ansh and Aryan of Block Panthal clinched gold while Sobit, Arshad, Tadil and Razi claimed silver and Shunbam,Yuvraj and Nitesh of Block Pouni won bronze.
In girls category Chess, Simran Verma, Shivani Devi and Simran Sajgotra of Block Panthal won gold whileAsha Devi, Pholi Devi and Swarna Devi of Block Pouni bagged silver and Block Bhamag girls won bronze .
In Carrom, Pakiza, Shenaz , Gulnaz and Irma of Block Thuroo won gold medal, while Shabnam Nadia, Sugfta, Rubina and Aklima of Block Mahore won silver medal and Bhumika, Pinku, Kamlesh, Rina, Sutjeet Kour of Block Chassana clinched bronze.
The matches were officiated by Kuldeep Kumar, Devinder Kour, Saroj Bala, Ravinder Kour, Jaswant Singh, Anjali Sharma, Jagdev Singh, Shamim Akhtar, Vikas Verma, Arun Dev, Anam Khan, Balbir Singh and Mohd Rayaz under the supervision of Pardeep Kumar (PEM).
