JAMMU, Feb 27: Nagrota Police arrested two drug peddlers and recovered around 55 kilograms of poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Nagrota Police Station laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza and intercepted a truck (tralla) bearing registration number PB12Y-2210, which was on its way to Punjab from Kashmir.
During checking, police team recovered around 55 kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons, who were identified as Kulwant Singh, son of Jarnail Singh of Hayatpur Tehsil Anandpur Sahib District Roopnagar, Punjab and Pappu Rai, son of Pulse Rai of Saousaraian, Tehsil Pogiparsa District Saran, Bihar.
A case under FIR Number 104/2020 under Sections 8/15/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Nagrota and investigation taken up.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Mohammad Shokat and assisted by SI Ankuj Kumar made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Mohan Sharma and SP Rural Suram Singh.
