PREWA demands reframing of WF Rules

JAMMU, Feb 27: J&K Prisons Retired Employees Welfare Association (PREWA) has demanded re-framing of Welfare Fund Rules for the serving/retired prisons personnel (Both gazetted/ non- gazetted) so that they are able to avail same kind of welfare benefits as are available to their counterparts in sister organizations like, police.
Krishan Singh, PREWA president while commenting upon orders issued by the PHQ recently the Director General of Police has sanctioned welfare relief for serving/retired police personnel for their self treatment or treatment of their dependents and marriages of their wards. He said that the Association has persistently been persuing with the concerned authorities of the department for same as the existing welfare rules do not contain such provision which required to be reframed soon and the authorities have always been very responsive giving assurance to us proceed further in this regard. Constitution of Welfare Board for prison personnel on Police pattern is yet another demand put forth by the Association repeatedly.
Association repeated the request for a meeting of the deputation of PREWA to DGP Prisons / Fire & Emergency services at the earliest and for holding 4th Annual Darbar for the retired Prisons personnel to offer them an opportunity to share their miseries and woes with the authorities for speedy remedy. He also sought raising Medical Allowance from Rs 300 to Rs1000 and Medical reimbursement of Medical Expenses for pensioners and employees of the State.
