KATHUA, Feb 28: ADGP Armed J&K AK Choudhary today visited IRP-19th Battalion Headquarters here.
He was accompanied by Danesh Rana, IGP Armed/IRP Jammu Zone.
The dignitaries were welcomed with the presentation of Ceremonial Guard of Honour. Thereafter the visiting officers inspected the Battalion Quarter Guard, stores, canteens, messes, MI room, MT office and tradesmen complex. Plantation drive was also launched in the Battalion Campus.
The officers also took stock of the welfare and functioning of manpower, deployments and also assessed the security, L&O issues and logistics.
They were also briefed about the various developmental activities undertaken by the unit.
On the occasion, the visiting officers inaugurated recreational park, parade and sports ground and children park for the welfare of cops and their families.
The dignitary also presided over the function of superannuation of the retiring officers namely DySP Ashok Kumar Chib, SI Ashok Kumar and HC Om Prakash.
Earlier, Randheer Singh, SSP, Commandant of the Battalion presented the welcome address.
The other dignitaries present on the occasion were OP Bhagat, DC Kathua, Shalinder Mishra, SSP Kathua, Mubashir Lateefi, SSP, CO IRP-15th Battalion, Shiv Kumar Sharma, SSP, CO JKAP-8th Battalion, Mohammad Arshad, SSP, CO IRP-12th Battalion, Arun Gupta, SSP, Principal PTS Kathua, Suneel Raj, SSP, CO JKAP-7th Battalion, ML Kaith, SSP Traffic (R) and senior officers of PMF, Army and Civil Administration.
The function was effectively managed by DySP Varinder Singh and his team including SI Deewan Chand, SI Ankush Jyoti, SI Prem, SI Manohar, SI Jangi Singh, ASI (M) Kamal Kishore, ASI (M) Iqbal Singh, ASI Puran Chand, ASI Gagan Singh, ASI Randheer Singh and other staff members of IRP-19th Battalion.
