MENDHAR, Mar 30: Three day long Mendhar Rural Olympics, being organised by Department of Youth Services and Sports, Poonch and Sarpanch Association of Mendhar with support from the Civil Administration, 37 RR Unit and 143 Arty Unit, concluded today.
In the finals of the volleyball event, Pappu Club outplayed Majhari Club and lifted the title, whereas, in Kabaddi Shaheed Liaquat Ali Club clinched the title by stunning Sudan Club.
In Bukhdar competition, Shahzad Ahmed of Chhunga A emerged winner, whereas in Bhini competition, Zulfikar Hussain, Basarat Hussain and Mohd Zabir claimed first, second and third positions respectively.
On the valedictory function, Rafiq Hussain Khan, MLA was the chief guest, who awarded the winners in presence of Nazir Chadak, District Sports Officer, Poonch, officers from Civil Administration, Military, Police Officials, local populace and sports lovers.
Students of ITI, Mendhar and children of Nari Niketan presented colourful cultural programe and mesmerized the audience.
