Turban tying competition held

JAMMU, Mar 31: Turban tying competition was organized by Shiromani Gurudwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), Amritsar and Dharam Parchar Committee (DPC) at Ranjit College of Education, in which over hundred students from various schools participated.
In the competition, Manmeet Singh, a student of class 12th of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Bandhu Rakh, Surijit Singh, a student of class 12th of Arvindgosh Higher Secondary School, Vijaypur, district Samba and Ramanpreet Singh, a student of class 10th of Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Bandhu Rakh were adjudged first, second and third respectively by a team of judges.
The winners were honoured by Joginder Singh, OSD to president, SGPC, Satbir Singh, secretary, Dharma Parchar Committee and Swaran Singh Khalsa, incharge, Sikh Mission, Jammu.
While speaking, Joginder Singh, Satbir Singh and others threw light on the glorious heritage of the Sikhs particularly and also highlighted the importance of hair and turban.
Among others present were Manmeet Singh, Chairman, Ranjit College of Education, Joginder Singh Adliwal, Bhupinder Pal Singh and Angrez Singh, Assistant Secretaries, Dharma Prachar Committee.
