Seminar on spirituality held

JAMMU, Mar 31: Sai Shyam College of Education in collaboration with Vichar Kranti Manch International (VKMI) organized ICSSR, North Western Regional Centre, Chandigarh sponsored seminar on “Enhancement of Spirituality and the Spiritual Learning through Education”.
The seminar was inaugurated by Prof Ved Ghai, former head, Department of Sanskrit, University of Jammu, who while speaking stressed upon the fact that today education has become a source of earning money. We are preparing students as money making machines not human beings, Prof Ghai added.
Keynote speaker, Prof KB Razdan, former head, Department of English, University of Jammu, said that education means emancipation and liberation of the human souls.
ID Soni, State Commissioner, Scouts and Guides, SK Jain, president, VKMI, were also present.
On the valedictory function, Swami Girijeshananda, Secretary, Rama Krishna Mission, was the chief guest, while Prof Rita Jitendra, former Principal, Government Women College, Parade was also present.
Earlier, Principal of the college Dr Usha Tickoo, presented the welcome address.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Nidhi Koul, while Rajni Koul, presented vote of thanks.
