CE outplays DE team, lifts Cricket Tourney title

RAJOURI, Mar 31: Civil Engineering (CE) team of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) outplayed Diploma Engineering (DE) team and lifted the title trophy of the cricket tournament at District Police Line ground, here today.
Electing to bat first, after winning the toss, CE team scored 148 runs in stipulated 20 overs with the loss of 8 wickets. The Diploma Engineering team failed to chase the target and lost the final match.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof Irshad Ahmed Hamal was chief guest and Superintendent of Police (SP) Mubassir Latiffi was the guest of honour, who awarded the winners in presence of Registrar MR Chowdhary, Incharge, Deputy Director Physical Education and Sports Mohd Din, University Engineer BT Chadgal besides police officers, locals and sports lovers were also present.
While speaking, Prof Hamal said that one of the main advantages of playing any sport is that it teaches us to cope with the failures and disappointments that come our way and to make renewed efforts to achieve success next time.
He said that after being defeated in a game repeatedly one begins to learn to fight better and yet accept the defeat gracefully.
In the tournament, a total of 10 teams including ECE team, CSE team, CE team, ERE team, MBA team, MSc IT team, Research Scholars team, Diploma Engineering team, MAM team and IT Engineering team participated.
