SAMBA, Mar 12: An unidentified person was killed in a road mishap after he was hit by an unknown vehicle near Nanak Chack area of Samba today.
According to the police, at around 9:30pm, the mishap took place at Jammu Pathankot National Highway near Nanak Chack area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Samba, when the unknown vehicle hit an unidentified pedestrian and then fled from the spot.
Police said when some passers by spotted a person lying on road in a pool of blood, they immediately informed to near by Police Station. After getting the information, police party reached the spot and brought him to District Hospital Samba for treatment where doctors declared him as brought dead. The body of the deceased was kept in the mortuary room of District Hospital Samba for identification.
In this regard police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law and started further investigation.
