REASI, Mar 31: One-day Awareness camp-cum-Kissan Mela under ATMA was organised by the Department of Agriculture at Arnas today.
The camp was inaugurated by the Minister for Revenue, Relief and Rehabilitation Ajaz Ahmed Khan. ADC Reasi Rajinder Singh Tara and SDM Mahore were present on the occasion.
Chief Agriculture Officer Reasi R. K. Safaya gave review of activities of his department.
Various stalls were set up by the agriculture, horticulture, fisheries, animal and sheep husbandry. The latest machinery and small tractors were also displayed on the occasion.
The Minister went around the stalls and appreciated the activities of agriculture and allied departments. The Minister directed officers present to work cohesively for the upliftment of the farmers.
Farmers also exhibited samples of their produce in the Mela and prizes were given to the best samples. In the technical session, all the allied departments spoke about their activities.
On this occasion, the Sarpanchs and Panchs present also put forward the problems being faced by the farmers of their area. The Minister stressed upon the farmers to take maximum benefit from the various schemes.
