Fire breaks out in Govt quarter, one killed

SAMBA, Mar 16: One person died after the fire broke out in Government quarter at Kartholi area of Bari Brahmana in district Samba this morning due to short circuit.
According to police, the fire broke in Government quarter which was allotted to Jageet Singh, son of Lal Singh resident of Ramban at present Upper Kartholi area of Bari Brahmana who was working as 4th class employee in Product Dev Board (Wool Board of Sheep Husbandry Department) this morning after short circuit.
When some people saw the flames coming out of the quarter, they immediately rushed to the spot and tried to douse the fire with the help of buckets of water but the fire could not be controlled as its intensity was very high. They immediately informed the Fire Brigade team and after receipt the information, fire brigade along with Police immediately reached on the spot and controlled the fire. But in the meantime Jageet Singh who was trapped inside the quarter received severe burn injuries and later succumbed till fire tender reached the spot. His body was shifted to mortuary room of the concerned hospital for autopsy police said.
Bari Brahmana Police has taken cognizance of the matter and started investigation.
