JAMMU, Apr 3: Two days “Techno Olympiad” organized by University Polytechnic of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU) at conference hall concluded today, in which students took part in various activities.
On the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Irshad Ahmed Hamal was chief guest, while, Registrar Mohd Rashid Chowdhary, Dean of Mathematical Sciences and Engineering Prof Mohammad Asgar, Dean Academic Affairs, Prof AK Koul, Principal University Polytechnic Colonel KK Dogra, Head Department of Management Studies Prof SK Gupta and Special Secretary to Vice Chancellor Suneet Gupta, students and faculty members were also present.
During two days Techno Olympiad, various activities such as written test, symposium, skill development techniques, workshop on improving aptitude, reasoning and general awareness among the scholars of the Polytechnic and College of Engineering and Technology were conducted.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof IA Hamal said that besides class work and practical in the laboratories, they stress on skill development, which will help students in a long way to get proper jobs in the era of competitions.
Coordinated by the team of faculty members including Akhil Mahajan, Sahil Hamid, Shivinder Mehta, Ankit Kapoor and Imtiyaz Khan, various students participated in the competitions and gained sufficient experience.
In the competition of Aptitude, Reasoning and General Awareness, the students of Polytechnic namely Mohd Irfan, Sayed Sohail Jafri and Zabiya Anjum stood at first, second and third respectively while in the same competition at College level, the team of College of Engineering and Technology Shakiz Ahsan Rather and Rouhan Farooq were adjudged as winner while Auqib Hamid and Sayed Aamir Shah stood second and Aarish Shafi Dar claimed third position.
In Symposium contest, Sayed Sohail Jafri, Shivanghi Sharma and Zabina Anjum were adjudged as first, second and third respectively at Diploma Engineering level while Akhter Nazir, Ubaid Bukhari and Uzair Qadri emerged winners at College level.
