Agarwal reviews functioning of DYSS

SRINAGAR, Apr 3: Director General, Youth Services and Sports, Naveen Agarwal emphasized for infusing momentum in the sport activities in the Valley to nurture healthy physique among the sports persons and to utilize the talent for producing better athletes who can compete in the national and international events.
He stated this while reviewing the functioning of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) here today.
Among others, Joint Director, Youth Services and Sports, Madan Lal, Deputy Director, Youth Services and Sports, Kashmir, Nilofer Amin and district officers attended the meeting.
Threadbare discussions were held for giving fillip to the sports activities in educational institutions of the Valley.
It was given out in the meeting that as many as 5000 students of Kashmir division participated in various events of divisional and inter district level, while 500 students of the Valley took part in the State level inter district games in Jammu division also during the last financial year.
It was also informed that 300 students of the Valley participated in 58th National School games.
Agarwal assured all the district officers of Youth Services and Sports that their demands will be taken care of on priority basis so that sports events will be organized in all the educational institutions.
He also exhorted upon the officers to make judicious use of the available resources for organizing sports events in all the educational institutions.
