Withdraw termination orders of nurses: JKMEF urges LG

JAMMU, Apr 6: Jammu & Kashmir Medical Employees Federation, Jammu today demanded the Government to immediately withdraw termination orders of staff nurses of GMC Kathua, Doda and Rajouri.
The issue was discussed during a meeting of the Association organized today under the president ship of its president Sushil Sudan. All district presidents and general secretaries of affiliated associations of JKMEF, Jammu Province were also present.
During the meeting members condemned termination of paramedicos and staff nurses engaged under SRO-24 in GMC Kathua ,GMC Doda, GMC Rajouri, saying they had been appointed under well defined selection process and had been rendering their services to the utmost satisfaction of the department.
“They were issued termination notice at a time when their services are needed most by the community. While their services are being terminated, the Government, on the other hand, is appointing retired medicos,” the members said and urged Lt Governor and Advisor incharge of Health Department to ensure restoration of services of these paramedicos in over all interest of health care system in J&K.
The Association members also demanded regularization of doctors and para-medicos especially engaged under academic arrangement under SRO 384, 409 as they are working 24×7 for fighting the deadly disease Coronavirus without having any job security.
During the meeting, all employees were requested through presidents and general secretaries of Health & Family Welfare to voluntary contribute/donate one day salary, as per Government order, for the month of March 2020 in J&K Relief Fund.
Others who present in the meeting were Choudhary Jarnail Singh (working president, Jammu Kashmir Government Pharmacist Association, Choudhary Aslam (president JKLTEA) and Harpal Singh (president JKXRAYEA).
