PK holds Video Conferencing on commencement of 31st Nirvasan Samvat

JAMMU, Apr 13: Panun Kashmir (PK) held a meeting of its Executive Council through Video Conferencing today on the occasion of commencement of the “Kashmiri Pandit Nirvasan Samvat-31”. The conference was presided over by Varinder Raina, president-PK. Prof Ritu Bakshi, vice chairperson, DOPK coordinated the conference from Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh. Vineet Sikal, youth activist provided the technical support.
Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, Senior BJP & Kashmiri Pandit leader participated as a special guest. Prominent among others who participated in the Video conference included Upinder Kaul general secretary, Kamal Bagati, general secretary(Org), Ashok Chrungoo treasurer, Vimla Chrungoo secretary-DOPK, Vijay Saproo. assistant secretary DOPK, B.L.Garyali and Sameer Bhat, convener-Panun Kashmir Youth.
Thirty one earthen lamps were lighted on the occasion by the youth activists of PK.
Varinder Raina, president, P K said that on the call of Prime Minister, Narendra Modi the entire nation is standing together in following the guidelines of the lockdown. The manner in which the people of the country have observed the lockdown would go a long way in breaking the cycle of the pandemic and help us defeat the corona virus.
He said in this hour of crisis for the world, the role played by China has come under severe scrutiny and once the problem is brought under control, the matter needs to be investigated as to how the virus came into being and why it was allowed to escape from Wuhan in China. The negative role played by China in thwarting the world bodies like UNO and WHO to perform their roles also needs to be probed by an International Commission of Enquiry, he added.
Prof. Ritu Bakshi, vice chairperson in her remarks said that the entire world lauded the bold and prompt actions taken by Indian Government to deal with COVID -19 Pandemic.
Upinder Koul, general secretary apprehended that hiding the travel history by Tablighi Jammat, shifting the COVID-19 patients to POK and increasing infiltration attempts by Pakistan in order to send more and more COVID-19 terrorists to Valley speaks volumes.
In his concluding remarks, Ashwani Kumar Chrungoo, senior leader said that the concept and execution of the idea called “Kashmiri Pandit Nirvasan Samvat” has a tremendous historical value. Usually, the earthen lamps are lighted on this occasion of Baisakhi to record the ethnic cleansing and exile of the Pandits from the Valley with a fresh memory of the new Samvat. It is important that each passing year be recorded in such a manner that serves as a living reminder to the community.
